Cape Parrots in KZN
5
Cape Parrots were spotted in a wattle plantation near the tree trail.
They were sleeping and then chewed on some wattle branches. These rare birds are hardly ever seen here. It is estimated that there are less than 1000 left in the wild. They can travel 100 kms a day in search of food, so this small group probably came from the Karkloof forests. Listen out for these birds. They call with a harsh skreek sound. If you hear or see them, please let Mr White, Harris or Roff know. |
