World Environment day

We all live on the one planet. And the planet is getting too warm.

Does this bother you?

It probably doesn't bother this dead frog, who has been strung up on
a fence by a Fiscal Shrike, or Butcher bird.

These pictures were taken near the farm dams on our estate.

Fiscal Shrikes store extra prey by hanging it up in 'butcheries'.

There were at least 10 frogs on this section of fence, and a couple
of shrews as well. When food supplies run low, the shrike will
return to it's frog biltong and survive the winter.

Back to the little problem of the earth (including frogs,
shrews, shrikes and you) getting warmer.

Whether or not you believe that global warming is actually happening,
there is no doubt that people are really making a hash of living wisely
on the earth.

I'm sure you've heard all this before, so I would simply like
you to consider 2 questions and 1 action for World Environment week:

1: Do I really think that my actions affect the rest of life on earth?

2: If so, do I care enough to actually do something about it?

3: Buy less stuff, and switch off the lights when you're not using them.
