his
week we celebrate, enjoy and care for trees. (Something we should do all
year, not just this week). At
Hilton this year we are celebrating Arbor week by planting trees around
the Wildlife centre and at the Umgeni river picnic sites. Form 1 & 2 boys have been especially
keen to get involved as it counts for points towards their Estate
requirement for the year.
A rare Red Stinkwood tree at Rolling stones. These trees belong in true
forest, which tells you that rolling stones must be a special place
indeed.
One also finds forest birds there.
A Rock fig clasps a crag on the estate. Home to many birds, these
trees are happiest growing on harsh rocky places.
